Charlotte Jalvingh
Charlotte Jalvingh, a Junior Editor for Gender Across Borders, lives in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Throughout her studies (she has a Master’s degree in social psychology and women´s studies) and beyond, the issues of women and LGBT rights and empowerment have been her major focus point. She has worked and volunteered for several organizations in this area, such as the Global Alliance of LGBT Education (www.lgbt-education.info) and a Dutch organization that supports small-scale economic projects of women in Asia, Africa, and South America. Recently, she worked for a local NGO in Northern India that runs women empowerment projects (amongst other things) and became very interested in local initiatives that aim to enhance women’s rights. As she feels very passionate about women’s/LGBT issues, she hopes to further pursue a career in this field.
When she is not working to reach this goal, she loves to do anything creative such as photography and designing (and learning how to combine this), trying out new recipes, exploring books, blogs and magazines on any topic that interests me, and travel around in both her hometown and country as well as the world.
You can contact her via email charlotte [at] genderacrossborders [dot] com.
