Avital Nathman

Avital is a comments moderator for Gender Across Borders. Ever since organizing a safe-sex workshop while in high school, Avital Norman Nathman has been encouraging random acts of feminism wherever she can. After receiving a dual BA in History and Education, Avital went on to teach high school Social Studies and volunteer for Planned Parenthood. While teaching, she simultaneously worked on a masters of liberal studies with a concentration in Women’s Studies from Wesleyan University. Her thesis focused on the relationship between women in their twenties and feminism.

With her MA in hand, Avital moved to the “happy valley” of western Massachusetts where she is currently a play-at-home mama, freelance writer, wife and feminist (and not necessarily in that order). When not gardening, cooking or dancing around the house, you can catch her musing about motherhood and feminism at Mamafesto. You can also follow her on Twitter @TheMamafesto.

You can contact her via email avital [at] genderacrossborders [dot] com.
