Call for Writers

Carolee Schneemann, Viet-Flakes, 1965Gender Across Borders is planning a series to run mid-December on Women, Art and War. The site is currently soliciting writers to contribute articles relating to this topic. If you enjoy writing and have a passion for the visual or performing arts as well as women’s studies, international politics or human rights, this is a great opportunity to put those interests to use. Articles may be on either retrospective or contemporary subjects and may address the critical concerns of the United States and/or abroad. Articles must be between 300 and 1500 words in length and would preferably include accompanying images and outside links.

To apply, please submit your article along with a resume OR short description of background and interests to Roxanne at visualarts@genderacrossborders.com or Abigail at performancearts@genderacrossborders.com by 10pm (CST) December 6th, 2009. All contributors must be available via email for the editing and uploading process. The series is expected to run December 17th and/or 18th, 2009.

No previous professional writing or blogging experience necessary. College students and recent grads are encouraged to apply.

Please address any questions or concerns to the editors listed above.
